Formula Used
Fuel Cost = (Distance ÷ Fuel Efficiency) × Fuel Price
In this formula:
- ●Distance is the total distance traveled in miles.
- ●Fuel Efficiency is the number of miles the vehicle can travel per gallon of fuel (MPG).
- ●Fuel Price is the cost of one gallon of fuel.
- ●Divide the distance by fuel efficiency to get gallons consumed, then multiply by fuel price to get the total cost.
